Can I change a single tire?

We all know that tire replacement is generally two or four together, because tires are like shoes, when the tire begins to wear, only one replacement will make the dynamic balance of the tire problems and even endanger the safety and stability of driving.

Replace the two tires in front or behind

If a tire is worn out and the owner does not want to replace it all, he or she needs to replace both. Generally speaking, tire repair stores recommend that you put the new tires to the front, the reason is that most of the current family cars are front-drive, the front wheels are responsible for grip start and direction, after normal use, the front wheels wear faster, so it is considered more economical to replace the new tires to the front wheels.

However, there are Western tire experts believe that new tires should be replaced more on the rear wheels, not because of the rear wheel drive, for the following reasons.

1. The front wheels are responsible for steering, and the steering feel changes after changing to new tires, and the owner appears unfamiliar with the vehicle handling at the beginning, which is not conducive to safe handling.

2. The rear wheels are responsible for the driving stability of the vehicle. Putting the old tires on the rear wheels actually reduces the driving quality, especially over deceleration, bumps are more serious.

Therefore, even if the front tires are badly worn, it is safer and more reliable to put new tires on the rear wheels.

Tire alignment

If the tires have been driven for more than 20,000 kilometers before they are replaced because of damage, it is also recommended to do tire alignment on the old tires so that the old tires can wear evenly and extend their service life.

To replace a tire, a person needs to park the car on a level surface and take out the tools needed. Every car is equipped with at least the most basic tools, a portable jack and a wrench.

Find the nearest car weight-bearing place to the flat tire, which is a thicker steel structure, so that you can jack up the car. Note that when using the jack to ensure that the ground is flat and solid, to vertical ground to jack up the car upright. The height of the jack up to keep the tires slightly touching the ground, so as to facilitate the unloading of the screws, will not drive the tires together.

Now you can unload the screws, screws outside the protective cap, first use a screwdriver to pry out directly on it. The direction of the screw is generally left loose right tight, but there are different, you try to screw it to know. Girls with less strength can use their feet to assist a little.

After removing the screws, and then jack a little higher, so that the tire from the ground about 5 cm. Pull the tire outward with force, and remove the tire. Note: After removing the tires, pay more attention to safety, do not put your hands or feet under the car, after all, the jack is not 100% safe.

Put the spare tire on, first align the hole of the screw, hang the tire up, push hard into the force of a few kicks, to ensure that it has been pushed into position. Then, put the jack down a little bit, so that the spare tire slightly touch the ground, then you can install the screws, the screws must be tightened, do not consider the next time you can screw down.

Even if the tires do not need to be replaced, when the mileage goes up, tire alignment is also very necessary, so as to effectively avoid tire bias grinding. If the tire does not have a dynamic balance problem, the owner can also be replaced in the operation.
